Metallic green bugs rule!

Whilst out sampling a park space yesterday (the only decent day we’ve had this week), we stumbled across these fantastic metallic green bugs perched on hogweed Heracleum sphondylium. The larger bug is the rose chafer Cetonia aurata (already seen in one of our garden transects), and the other two are male flower beetles Oedemera nobilis (identified by the swollen hind femora). These are two of our favourite insects (probably because we like the colour green!).
